Some history about the Champion Fields at Old Settlers Park – Baseball.

In 2007 the Round Rock City Council approved the issuance of $12.5 million in certificates of obligation to help fund $18.2 million of improvements to Old Settlers Park. The improvements to the park included major renovations to the existing 20 baseball fields and construction of a 5-field softball complex.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Parks and Recreation Department are strong partners in developing and growing the Sports Capital of Texas campaign in Round Rock. We strive to provide park users with a memorable experience when they visit Round Rock’s parks for sporting events.

Clay Madsen Recreation Center has two full size gymnasiums, a six lane, 25 yard lap pool (pool opens 30 minutes after facility opening and closes 30 minutes prior to facility closing), four racquetball courts, a cardio/weight room, meeting rooms/ kitchen, game room, and babysitting Madsen playroom available for our members.

Dell Diamond is the home stadium of the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Dell Diamond is a facility that features numerous amenities for fan comfort and enjoyment. The Express and Dell Computer Corporation agreed on a partnership that included naming rights to the stadium in January of 2000. The Round Rock Express is a Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The stadium is designed to allow amazing close-up views of the action. Fans seated on the first row behind home plate are actually closer to home plate than the pitcher’s mound. The mound to home plate measurement is 60-feet, 6-inches with the backstop just 55 feet behind home plate. Some fans seated down either the first or third base line are less than 50 feet from the first and third-base line. In addition to being the home for Round Rock Express games, Dell Diamond is also the site for amateur sporting events, as well as musical concerts, craft shows, and other events held year-round. Dell Diamond features include:

• The United Heritage Center, located down the first baseline, offers 10,000 square feet of event space, including 5,400 square feet of meeting room space. That space can be converted into three equal size suites and has the use of a full-service kitchen
• The Intel Club, located on the suite level of Dell Diamond, features expansive views of the stadium in a restaurant-style setting
• The pool and spa party area is located beyond the right-field with a 20′ x 50′ pool and a 10′ x 10′ hot tub. Next to the pool and spa party area is a covered picnic area with a playscape, and both areas are available for rental by groups.
• The Fun Zone, located in center field, has a handful of activities to keep kids entertained for hours, including a “Sport Court” basketball court, a 26-foot high simulated rock wall, a simulated pitching area, and a bungee trampoline
• Daktronics HD LED video board in left-center field that measures 36′ x 55′ along with two 6′ x 99′ ribbon boards along the outfield fence
• Dell Diamond Premium Seats behind home plate feature wide cushioned seats with tray tables and wait staff
• 4 Topps tables at the top of select seating sections offer a social way to take in the game
• Hand railings in between the sections in the seating bowl to optimize fan safety
• Restrooms are easily accessible at Dell Diamond, with four men’s and women’s rooms located along the first and third baseline; all restrooms are handicapped accessible and have changing tables
• Five public stairways and three elevators located throughout the stadium, providing access to the suite level and Intel Club.

The field is an ASTROPLAY artificial playing surface.
Excellent drainage provides a great surface in all conditions.

Concession stands are located on each side of the stadium.
Men/Women restroom facilities are located at each end of Home and Visitor stands.

Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex is located in north Austin. The 11,000-capacity stadium is a short walking distance from great affordable restaurants to satisfy your pre and postgame needs.

The field, owned by the Round Rock Independent School District, is covered with artificial turf which provides an excellent playing surface with very good drainage. It hosts high school soccer and football games for Round Rock, McNeil, Westwood, Stony Point and Cedar Ridge High Schools. The overall facility seats 11,000 patrons – 5,500 on each side. 950 of these seats, per side, are equipped with stadium-style chair-backs for added comfort. Wheelchair accessibility for both home and visiting spectators easily welcomes and gives access to everyone.

Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park is the City’s crown jewel of the park system and is a well-known sports destination in the youth and amateur sports leagues. The park’s 645 acres provides ample space for several recreational pursuits from disc golf to cricket, and is home to a 20 field baseball complex, a 5 field softball complex, 5 soccer fields, 2 football fields, a multipurpose field complex, and more. Old Settlers Park is also a place to congregate outside, barbecue, and have a game of horseshoes at one of the two pavilions.

The park is also home to many special events– sporting and recreational- throughout the year.

Previously known as Austin Sports Arena, Rock Sports Arena’s 21,000 square foot facility serves as the headquarters for action-packed adult and youth roller derby, inline hockey and volleyball, as well as housing a 24-hour fitness center for the surrounding Round Rock community. RSA also hosts special large events like tournaments, mixed martial arts, boxing and a variety of social events.

The Rockin’ City Roller Girls, Round Rock’s very own roller derby team, calls RSA home and manages the entire complex for their growing internal amateur sports facility.
