Did you ever wonder what would happen if a couple of comic and video game nerds decided to open a brewery?  Us too! So we did.

We’ve put a lot of time and energy into making a place where you are invited to come in, nerd out, and have a great beer.  We hope you like it as much as we do.

While you’re here, peruse the menu, look at what’s going on, and map us out.  Once you’re done, come in and join us for a pint and talk nerdy to us!

OUR STORY

In the Houston area born and raised, in the game room is where we spent most of our days: chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool and shootin’ some b-ball in NBA Jam after school.

In 2010, we both found our way to Austin and quickly became enamored with the area and all that it offers. After meeting a few years later through our mutual friend, Chance, we started a podcast, called “3 Beers In,” about our love for Texas craft beer.  Soon after, we weren’t content with just drinking beer made by other people; we wanted to make our own beer crafted to our style and taste: smooth, delicious, and easily approachable.

After making some seriously good beer, we moved on to the 3rd Level in our journey: not just making great beer for ourselves, but sharing the experience with everyone.

We grew up on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Mario, Sonic, X-Men, Spider-Man, and Back to the Future, just to name a few. We invite you to relish in the nostalgia, raise a pint, and enjoy some good times.  So dust off the Spidey suit, grab your lightsaber, and come nerd out with 3rd Level Brewing!

Cork & Barrel: Where Irish Flair Meets Texas Fare! The Cork & Barrel Craft Kitchen + Microbrewery is an authentic and historical Irish pub experience with Texas modernism, innovation, and hospitality.

Here are 5 reasons you should make your way to Cork & Barrel:

1. The authentic Irish architecture

One thing that sets this pub apart from others in Austin is the architecture. They have authentic Irish furniture pieces like floating fireplaces and stained glass windows from an old Irish abby that dates back more that 200 years!

2. The food is Irish and Texan (at the same time)

What makes Cork & Barrel different from other pubs? It’s the food, which somehow is able to capture both Irish and Texas tastebuds.

The craft kitchen and microbrewery feature a variety of Irish-Texas fusion dishes, most notably — the Rosemary Campfire Hoey Irish Stew (Texas style) and the Cliffs of Moher Chorizo Mussels.

3. They brew their own beer

Cork & Barrel wouldn’t be a microbrewery if it didn’t have its own craft beers on tap.

Kudla, Darlington and co-owner Jason Moorhead put their heads together to offer four unique craft beers on tap that will satisfy every beer enthusiasts craving.

4. See a piece of the Titanic — no, seriously!

Both of owner Sam Darlington’s grandfathers were riveters who helped build the Titanic in Belfast, Ireland, Kudla said. So it’s no surprise that he left a trace of his family history throughout the microbrewery.

Visitors will be able to find a replica rivet used to build the Titanic, passed down by Darlington’s family, in front of the men and womens’ restrooms. The display features a brief history about the Titanic and the Darlington family’s link to the vessel.

Another piece of history can be found in the restrooms, which are designed to look like a replica of the mens and ladies rooms seen aboard the Titanic.

The ladies restrooms even has the exact replica of the wallpaper that lined the walls of the luxury liner that met its fate in 1912, Kudla said.

5. There’s live music every weekend

Bands from across Austin and Texas make their way to the microbrewery’s outdoor stage to perform live shows every weekend.

You’ll never get tired of the amazing Texas talent (and views) that graces this eatery and music venue.
